This upholstery workshop makes a pod-shaped therapeutic swing used in care and rehabilitation at home and in institutions. It is intended for special groups and helps users relax, calm down and ease pain and anxiety. It has a 5-point safety harness and a leg support, the headrest height is adjustable, and the seat can be tilted into a lying position. It can swing, spin and bounce, and can be moved from the living room to the porch or hung from a tree.
The swing is made by hand in Finland, with about 80% domestic materials. Production began in 2005 under Suntec Innovation (Helena Kaltiainen). It was developed in 1997–1998 with ISAK and the MALIKE project of the Finnish Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, together with end users and their families. It became a lendable device in the MALIKE equipment rental service, and the association's statement says it improves balance and coordination in special-group use.
