This family-run hostel stands in the courtyard of the volunteer fire brigade building in the city centre. The building is over 120 years old and a protected heritage site, designed by architect August Krook. The 17 rooms suit solo travellers, couples, groups and families. Guests have a shared kitchen, free wireless internet and laundry facilities with a washing machine and tumble dryer on the second floor.
There is no reception: the door code and check-in instructions are sent by email and text message. Several cafés nearby serve breakfast, and the website recommends Ravintola Päre. Advance payment is taken after the free cancellation period, and a booking option without a credit card is offered. Business and group offers are available with a contract code, and the hostel is part of Torget Aparthotel's group of businesses. It is child-friendly and non-smoking, but not wheelchair accessible.
