The office serves a museum founded in 1896 that acts as the regional responsibility museum for East Uusimaa. Collections include objects, art, natural history specimens, photographs and a historical archive with documents dating back to the 1500s. With partners, the museum also looks after the J. L. Runeberg home and Walter Runeberg's sculpture collection.
Expert services are available by phone, online and in person. Donations of objects, art, photographs and natural history specimens are received at the office by appointment, rather than in exhibition rooms. Objects over 100 years old found in land or water must be reported to the Finnish Heritage Agency.
