This holiday cottage rental on Niinisaari island on Lake Saimaa has 17 cottages. Each has its own wood-heated sauna, yard, shore and fireplace. Cottages can be rented from one night to several weeks, and pets are welcome in all of them at no extra charge. Some shore cottages have a winter ice-swimming hole, and electric trolling motors can be rented for rowing boats.
The family-owned business has rented out cottages since 1965, when the first one, Muikkula, was built, and the owning family lives on the same island. Restaurant Niinipuu serves Finnish local food and is open to cottage guests too. Activities include seal safaris, cycling holidays and guided hiking in the Saimaa archipelago, plus Karelian pie and blueberry-flower baking workshops. The car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible.
