The sandy beach on Lake Saimaa has a gently deepening shore, and wading is possible 40 to 100 m out. The beach and the changing cabins on the bank are free to use. The area is one of the Saimaa Geopark sites and has been used as a free outdoor recreation area. The dance pavilion is known for its summer dance evenings, with the programme published separately.
It is a stop on the Saaristoreitti cycling route, with views over the lake. The area has the Pisto Camp campsite with about 100 pitches and services, and wooden-architecture accommodation at Pistohiekka Resort, which opened in June 2022. Nearby are the Lietvesi lake view road and a kiosk and viewpoint. Parking for the beach and marina is signposted near the first cabins on the right.
