The municipal hall is the base for the municipality's services. Online, residents can handle building permits through Lupapiste and use other municipal e-services via Suomi.fi. The hall also has remote work spaces. The municipal website publishes announcements, council agendas and minutes, and an events calendar, and it lists health services provided by Siun sote. Tourism is promoted through a presentation of the Northern Saimaa area and free-time services on a map.
The municipality runs a library, whose history goes back to the 1870s and whose library building opened in 1981. It belongs to the Vaara library network and offers an online library service, and an unmanned self-service branch opened in 2019. Integration and employment services are also offered to residents. The entrance, toilet and car park are wheelchair accessible.
