Completed in 1904, this neo-Gothic brick church was gutted by fire after a lightning strike in June 1984. Its outer walls survived, and architect Carl-Johan Slotte designed a modern interior within them. The hall seats about 700 and is named Refugium, meaning a place of refuge.
Services are broadcast through internet radio, with recordings available for a week. Rooms for church ceremonies and celebrations are booked through the Savonlinna parish office. The entrance, car park and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
