The main library serves the city and is part of the joint Satakirjastot library network. There are also four local libraries, in Kourujärvi, Lappi, Pyynpää and Uotila, and a mobile library that serves schools, daycare centres and areas outside the centre. The digital library is available at satakirjastot.finna.fi. In the winter season the newspaper reading room is open on Sundays too.
A return chute at the main library and at the Lappi library lets you return loans when closed. The Uotila and Lappi libraries offer self-service opening hours. The main library's car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
