Founded as a shoe-repair workshop by Vilho Valo in 1922, the footwear shop is run by the fourth generation of the same family. Its history includes rubber work boots and a steel-toe rubber boot produced after the war.
Stock comes mainly from Finnish footwear manufacturers, with some foreign shoes bought through agents. Brands include Ensiaskel, Think, Orto, Sievi, Janita, Rieker, Ecco and OTZ-Shoes. Seasonal ranges are purchased at footwear fairs twice a year, and the shop keeps in touch with customers through Facebook.
