This local history museum covers the area's past from prehistory to the Second World War. The permanent exhibitions are the main local history display, the Peura art gallery and an outdoor museum area, and there are changing themed exhibitions plus events such as openings, guided tours and workshops. The art collection includes works by Pekka Halonen, Magnus von Wright and Ville Vallgren, which can also be viewed online. The museum opened to the public in 1938 and is maintained by the Peura Museum Foundation.
It stands in the church village, in a nationally valued built heritage area. Group tours are booked in advance through an online form, and tickets can be bought ahead. Children under 7, war veterans and certain museum card holders get in free. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible, and wheelchairs can be hired.
