This handmade bakery sells bread and baked goods in a rural, home-baking style. According to its website, it uses real butter, sugar, milk and cream, and Finnish grain, potatoes and meat. The range includes rye breads, mixed and wheat breads, rinkeli (ring-shaped rye bread), baguettes, buns, coffee pastries and doughnuts. Savoury items include Karelian pies, meat pies and savoury pastries, plus Finnish fish products such as a lake fish pizza.
Seasonal items include Christmas pepper cookies, Runeberg tarts, Shrove Tuesday buns and tippaleipä. Some products are lactose-free and some breads are low in salt. Goods are sold straight from the bakery and through resellers. The annual Rautavaara-päivät village event takes place in late June. The car park is wheelchair accessible.
