Consecrated in 1821, this wooden cruciform church was built in the Gustavian classical style. A major renovation designed by Wilhelm Amatius Tötterström in 1900 gave it a neo-Gothic appearance. An earlier church stood here in the 1620s. Inside are wooden furnishings by Reijo Hylkilä and a globe-shaped mission candlestick designed by Veikko Suomalainen in 1988.
A memorial completed in 1972 recalls the famine victims of the 1860s, while an angel statue commemorates people buried elsewhere. The adjoining parish hall contains meeting, children's and youth rooms and parish offices. The entrance, toilet and parking area are accessible.
