The museum complex brings together an art museum, a city museum and exhibitions. The art museum shows the Tatjana and Pentti Wähäjärvi collection, with rotating themes and a room devoted to Helene Schjerfbeck. The city museum tells the local story from the Stone Age to the future through photographs, objects and other material. Current exhibitions include a display of Egyptian objects from the collection of the Finnish Egyptological Society. Works from the art collection can also be browsed online through the Finna service.
The museum can host corporate events, association gatherings and private celebrations. Packages can include a guided tour of the current exhibition and a sparkling drink reception, and workshops linked to the exhibitions can be arranged for groups. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
