This ski and outdoor recreation area lies on Saukkovaara hill in Kainuu, near Kajaani. The downhill slopes are open on weekends and daily during winter holiday weeks. Cross-country trails include FIS-level tracks for demanding skiing, and the area also offers tobogganing, hiking and summer trekking routes. There are two hiking routes, 12 km and 20 km long, and the UKK trail crosses the hill from the Paltamo border towards Hyrynsalmi.
A campfire site sits at the top of the slopes. The area suits families with children and school groups on holidays.
