The society was founded in 1907 and is based in a blue house in Saarenkylä. About 600 active hobbyists attend each week, from children to seniors. The programme includes social dancing, folk dance and folk music, volleyball and community singing, with singing sessions on Thursdays. The society organises dances, including charity dances together with the local Lions clubs. Its website tells the story of a 90-year history, including the destruction of the house in 1944 and its rebuilding after the war.
The house offers space for hobbies and events such as trade fairs, sales exhibitions, concerts and family celebrations. The largest weddings have had over 200 guests, and a serving set for over 200 people can be rented for use away from the house. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
