This handicrafts workshop and guesthouse operates under the LAURI brand. It makes traditional Finnish and Sámi crafts from wood, reindeer antler, silver, leather and birch. Visitors can watch production in the workshop and shop at the factory store, and the online shop ships worldwide. The business traces back to a knife factory founded in 1924 by goldsmith Johannes Lauri, and since 2017 it has been run by Hilla House Oy, which emphasises Sámi design and culture.
Five studio apartments are rented in a historical log house estate, each with tea and coffee and a kitchen. Breakfast is included, and Wi-Fi and parking are free. There is luggage storage, free sleds for children and a yard with barbecue opportunities. Handicraft classes and Sámi culture sharing are offered. The building is non-smoking and child-friendly, but pets are not accepted and the entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
