The roughly 3 km forest trail explores the church hill's history and geological formations. Created by local heritage volunteers, it is part of Saimaa Geopark, awarded UNESCO Global Geopark status in 2021. Information boards are in Finnish and English, and a memorial recalls a painting sketch made here by Albert Edelfelt in 1887.
The route starts and ends at the local heritage museum, where parking is available. Walk anticlockwise following orange arrows and dots on trees during the snow-free season. The terrain is demanding and not fully accessible; one downhill section has a railing. Walkers can set off at a time of their choosing.
