The manor is mentioned in historical sources in 1562. Its main house was built around 1825 in Empire style for the Enehjelm family. In 1852 it was raised to two storeys and given its present Swiss-style exterior, with glazed verandas and carved woodwork.
Johan Ludvig Runeberg worked here as a tutor in 1825–1826. The Häkkinen family has owned the estate since 1874. A stone grain store was built shortly after the main house.
