The ice rink was built in 1997, largely with volunteer labour. The changing rooms, social facilities and café were completed in December 1998. The rink measures 57 metres by 28 metres. It is the home arena of the ice hockey club RuoSkA ry, which runs youth teams, the Leijonakiekkokoulu skating school and recreational ice hockey.
The attendance record of 529 spectators was set in March 2015 in a playoffs match. The rink is run by its own company. The car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible.
