Founded in 1961 and maintained by the municipality, the local history museum presents traditional livelihoods: fishing on Lake Pyhäjärvi, tar burning, plank carving and especially farming. Historic buildings have been relocated to the lakeshore, including a crofter's cottage furnished with local artefacts.
The grounds also contain a grain barn, an 1833 lending storehouse, a cottage living room, a sauna, a granary and a cowshed.
