Founded in 1955, this music education organisation runs masterclasses for young singers and instrumentalists. Around half the students come from abroad, and professors teach from around the world. Roughly 5,000 musicians have studied here over the decades. Pianist, composer and conductor Ralf Gothóni has been involved since 1978.
Courses take place in summer as well as winter and spring. Teaching is organised with the summer university and the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki. Partners also include the Shanghai Conservatory.
