This regional association supports village activity across North Savo. Its members are the region's village associations and village committees. According to its website, there are about 277 active villages: 194 registered village associations and 85 unregistered village committees, plus eight village parliaments. The aim is to keep rural areas viable and safe and to strengthen local democracy.
The association organises village security (Kylävara) seminars and election-related seminars. It holds an annual autumn general meeting and elects its board for two-year terms. Village activity centres are often village halls or premises that outsiders can rent. The office is in the INNOCUM business centre.
