Founded in 2010 with roots in the 1950s, the amateur theatre brings together hobbyists and professionals for audiences of all ages. It offers courses, workshops, summer comedies and a theatre club for ages 9–16 ending in a spring show. Its name refers to author Veikko Huovinen.
The indoor hall seats about 150–200 and the cafe and dining space about 50. A terrace serves summer interval refreshments. Group sales and enquiries go to the producer by phone or email. The bus station is about 100 metres away and there is a large car park. Parking and the toilet are accessible.
