This historic hillfort rises about 55 m as a rocky cliff from the shore of Lake Saimaa. It is said to have a thousand-year history, and narrow stairs lead to the summit, which offers a view over the lake. Huge glacial boulders lie along the shore below the cliff.
The nature site has a boat landing, a grill area and a toilet, and a guest jetty for boats is nearby. It lies about 5 km from the church village towards Partalansaari. From the parking area it is a walk of under 0.5 km to the hillfort. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
