This grey stone long church was completed by 1520 at the latest and was preceded by one or more wooden churches on the same site. It was converted into a cruciform church in 1833–1834 to designs by Carl Ludvig Engel, and the bell tower and adjacent mausoleum were finished in 1845. An old altarpiece by Alexandra Frosterus-Såltin hangs inside, and the church was renovated in 2022–2023. It belongs to the Tainionvirta parish.
Sunday services begin at 10:00. In summer the church is open to visitors with a guide present. A toilet is in or near the church. The car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
