The practice belongs to Väestöliitto ry (the Family Federation of Finland), and its operating company, Väestöliiton Hyvinvointi Oy, is wholly owned by it. Profits go to services for citizens and to Väestöliitto's research and advocacy work. It offers psychotherapy as well as individual, couple, family and sexual therapy, and its therapists work with issues such as relationship problems, anxiety, depression, ADHD, the autism spectrum and parenting. Therapy is available in person at about 20 locations and remotely, and the service has been declared a discrimination-free zone.
Many private health insurance policies cover the therapy, and Kela-supported rehabilitation psychotherapy is also offered. Booking ahead is recommended, and there is a toilet on site. It also runs continuing education courses for therapists and social and health care professionals, and workplace mental wellbeing services for organisations.
