Basic arts education in dance for children and young people includes early childhood dance, around four years of basic studies and around two years of advanced studies. Styles include ballet, contemporary, jazz/pop and show dance, with optional street dance and pointe classes. Basic studies can begin at about eight through a Startti introductory group.
Three sprung-floor studios are used, and students perform regularly, including in Pyynikki hall. Completed studies lead to a certificate. Advanced Tanssiva studies require a motivation letter or presentation video. Non-enrolled students may attend selected classes once a week.
