The association operates the national museum responsible for working life and social history in the historic Finlayson factory area. Founded in 1993, its displays include Yhteisvoimin, an industrial museum and a large steam engine in its original location. Topics also cover minorities, feminism, the environmental movement and disability history.
The museum has occupied these premises since 2001. Its shop sells small design brands and local crafts, and meeting and event rooms can be hired. The association has 28 member organisations and also runs Nootti, a museum of Eastern relations.
