Verkko is a unit of Yhdessä Selviytymisen Tuki YSTI ry that arranges volunteer and peer support for older and disabled people in Hervanta so that they can keep living at home. The non-profit association provides community-based social services and works to reduce inequality and loneliness in Hervanta.
The association was founded in 1990, growing out of a 1980s community work trial by the city and the Hervanta parish. Its values are person-centred, community-based and equal treatment, and it is politically and religiously non-partisan. It works with the Hervanta community centre L8 and the city's social and health services. The office is in the association's premises, in suite 202.
