The Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology conducts research and teaching in medicine, biotechnology, biomedical engineering and health technology. Three research centres bring together medicine, biosciences and engineering. Activities include the Regea clinical tissue bank and cell centre, and FHAIVE, which focuses on alternatives to animal testing.
The unit is based on the Kauppi campus and collaborates with the university hospital and other regional hospitals. It participates in SPARK Finland, a network supporting the commercialisation of health research. The entrance and parking area are wheelchair accessible.
