Housed in a late-18th-century communal grain store, the museum collects local objects and stories about farming life, businesses and notable residents. Displays include farming and kitchen tools, national costumes, butter churns, tar-burning equipment and a lantern linked to illicit spirits trading.
The ski collection includes early-20th-century wooden skis and Toivo Saarinen's racing skis. Other exhibits cover Otto Syreeni's dye works, the former pharmacy and pottery by Veikko Seppänen. The museum also looks after Simo Korpela's birthplace and the Komsi windmill. Guided tours are available, but wheelchair access is difficult.
