Founded in 1813, the maritime education and simulation centre provides STCW courses for professional seafarers and simulator training for shipping companies and authorities. Topics include the IGF and Polar Codes, first aid, ship security, ECDIS and VTS. Bridge and engine-room simulators replicate real ship environments.
Research and development services cover port and fairway studies, testing and prototyping. Novia University of Applied Sciences and Axxell provide degree programmes in English and Swedish. Continuing education also caters for leisure boaters. The centre is in Auriga Business Center, with an accessible entrance and parking.
