Founded by Aki Rantanen in 1993, the business began as a classical recording shop and has also sold recordings at music festivals and the Finnish National Opera. Its cultural shop sells recordings and locally themed gifts, and organising concerts forms part of its work.
Since 2013 the company has operated the concert hall's ticket sales under a city contract. A teaching salon opened in 2024 offers singing lessons and basic violin and piano tuition.
