Tyks is the central hospital of the Varsinais-Suomi region and provides specialised healthcare. The hospital area is home to many clinics and units, such as Majakkasairaala.
Since the start of 2023 Tyks has been part of the Varsinais-Suomi wellbeing services county, known as Varha. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
