Founded in 1974, this Finnish family-owned business sells dance, gymnastics and skating clothing and sports accessories from one site. Its own la Pirouette brand is at the heart of the range, alongside brands such as Intermezzo, Repetto, Capezio, Bloch, Merlet and So Danca. The clothing covers recreational and competitive sports, including ballet, gymnastics and figure skating. Most la Pirouette garments are designed, cut and sewn at the company's own workshop in Tampere, and offcuts from production become hair donuts, headbands and knee guards. The company states it uses no chemicals in its own production.
The online shop is open around the clock, and phone service is available on weekdays from 9 to 16. Ballet shoe fittings are done without an appointment. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but there is no accessible parking.
