This family day care takes place in the childminder's own home, and it belongs to a chain whose childminders work across Finland. Each childminder looks after up to four children, and every child has one familiar carer. Children go outdoors and exercise in nature every day, and home-cooked meals are part of the day. Childminders are trained and have pedagogical skills, and the municipality supervises the activity.
Before a placement, families are offered a free trial visit to the childminder's home. Children can settle in gradually, and a parent can stay during the first days. Applications are made through an online form.
