This private day-care centre has 26 places for children aged 1 to 6. It follows the Luonnossa kotonaan (nature-at-home) approach, and most of the staff are trained in it. Weekly forest trips, nature-based exercise and story sessions are part of the routine, with music almost daily. Winter activities include skiing, skating and sledding.
Food is cooked in the on-site kitchen: porridge, lunch and a snack every day, with special diets taken into account. Children bake bread weekly and learn about nutrition. Staff include kindergarten teachers and childcare workers, with a focus on a permanent team. The centre is run by entrepreneur and director Suvi Malinen.
