This nostalgic former cinema now runs as a culture venue and cinema, operated by the association Skafferiet r.f., founded in 2008. The programme includes concerts, theatre, stand-up comedy, open-stage nights and film screenings at Kino Ritz, from new releases to classics. Finnish films are also shown with descriptive subtitles.
The second-floor bar serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, light snacks, coffee and tea. A wheelchair-accessible toilet is on the ground floor, and a stair lift reaches the café and the lower auditorium. An audio induction loop covers rows D to G. The venue takes part in the Friend Card and Kaikukortti programmes, and art exhibitions are accepted free of charge. Supporting and active membership of the association is available.
