This is the central hospital of the Ostrobothnia wellbeing services county, offering specialised care; a referral is needed for hospital services. The delivery ward and maternity outpatient clinic cover obstetrics and gynaecology. An intensive care and monitoring unit serves children and adults from across Ostrobothnia. Surgical services include an operating theatre, day surgery and eye and ENT clinics, and there are outpatient clinics for internal medicine, neurology, dermatology, dialysis and lung conditions. Cancer and blood disease care and radiotherapy are provided, along with a paediatric outpatient clinic, ward and child neurology unit, and a cardiology ward with a cardiac station.
Palliative and end-of-life care is offered, and there is a hospital chaplaincy and quiet room. The Seri support centre for people who have experienced sexual violence is located here, as are the regional home hospital and palliative centre. The car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible.
