Founded in 1936, the swimming club offers recreational and competitive swimming. It has around 150 members a year and about 20 coaches including substitutes. It belongs to the Finnish Swimming Federation and the regional sports association. Coaches must sign confidentiality obligations and submit criminal record extracts.
The season runs from late August or early September to the end of May. Members re-register each year, and under-18s are insured through the federation. A dedicated pool card is used for training; club sessions are separate from public swimming sessions.
