This cultural youth work centre is run by the city in the former Vernissa factory. Young people took over the building in spring 1985 and turned it into a youth arts factory, and it opened as a cultural venue in 1990. Activities include visual arts, theatre, animation, music and crafts, with workshops, day camps and band activities. Gallery Tehdassali is an exhibition space for young artists, and the Animaatioasema studio has a MiniVantaa set for stop-motion animation.
The house hosts over 200 cultural events a year and receives about 35,000 visitors, while around 250 young people take part in weekly activities. The spaces can be rented for dance and theatre performances and other events, and there is a café. Safer-space principles are followed, and youth work services are available in Swedish. Parking, entrances, the lift and the toilet are wheelchair accessible.
