This recycling centre is run by Keski-Savon Jätehuolto, a waste management company owned by five municipalities. It accepts donated household goods such as furniture, textiles, kitchenware, clothing, books, toys and tools. As an official collection point it takes household electrical and electronic waste regardless of condition. Energy-saving bulbs, fluorescent tubes, batteries and small faulty bicycles are accepted free of charge, as are small amounts of used cooking oil (under 10 litres) and large household scrap metal that cannot go to eco points. Large business equipment such as copiers, and cold appliances, are not accepted. Hazardous household waste reception started in February 2021.
The shop sells second-hand goods and upcycled products made from recycled material, with a home delivery service. The centre also offers work trial and rehabilitative work placements. A recycling vehicle visits municipalities in the service area once a month. The car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible.
