The harness workshop is part of Hevosopisto, a vocational institution for the horse industry described as one of the largest in Europe. Training is mainly practical, carried out in stables, a farrier workshop, a harness workshop and at horse events and competitions, supported by theory and online study. Qualifications include the horse husbandry basic degree, riding instruction and specialist degrees such as stable manager and farrier.
Study can be full-time or multi-form alongside work or a training contract, and an unfinished qualification can be completed flexibly all year with a personal competence development plan. The campus also hosts the Finnish Horse Sport Museum and a horse hospital. Accommodation ranges from hostel-style rooms to hotel-level apartments with breakfast buffet. Event visitors have child-care rooms and accessible toilets, and leashed dogs are allowed.
