King Gustav Vasa founded the manor as a royal model estate in 1556. Its main building was commissioned by Sofia Lovisa Ramsay in 1797 and extended to its present form in 1914. The surviving stone arch bridges Qvarnbro and Sågbro date from 1775, and the mill from 1777. August Ramsay's heirs retain ownership through Esbogård Ab.
The house hosts weddings, family celebrations, corporate events and meetings. The grounds are also used for outdoor recreation and adventure activities. Chefs Gourmet Catering handles hosting, with service in Finnish and Swedish. The car park is wheelchair accessible.
