This HUS emergency hospital in Espoo has a joint emergency department open around the clock. Its specialities are surgery, psychiatry, paediatrics, lung diseases, neurology and internal medicine. It treats Finland's most severe burns, performs all bariatric surgery in the HUS area and has the country's second-largest maternity unit.
The emergency department serves patients over 16 from Espoo, Kauniainen and Kirkkonummi, with a separate children's emergency service for under-16s. Many clinics see patients by appointment, often with a referral. On site are a pharmacy, a café, a lunch restaurant and an OLKA volunteer point. The entrance and toilets are wheelchair accessible.
