The Evangelical Lutheran parish holds services, baptisms and weddings, with children's clubs, youth activities, mothers' evenings and craft evenings. It separated from Rautalampi Parish in 1860. The present wooden church was built in 1889–1892 and renovated in 1993–1995.
Parish halls and rooms can be hired, with catering available. Services include funeral arrangements, grave maintenance and certificate and genealogy orders. Church conversation support is available by phone and online, also in Swedish. The entrance, car park and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
