The café is linked to a family-owned Finnish coffee farm in the village of Confines in Colombia's Santander region. It was founded by a Finnish-Colombian couple, Mikko and Andrea, and family members help run the farm. The farm's name means 'farm of windows', standing for openness: the coffee is single-estate arabica, with full transparency about how it is grown.
The first harvest shipped to Finland was picked in autumn 2019. Guamo trees, which fix nitrogen into the soil, are planted on the farm, and the aim is to farm more ecologically and share Finnish environmental know-how with local growers. Hundreds more trees are planned to offset the carbon footprint.
