This nature trail of just over a kilometre in Helsinki runs through an eight-hectare black alder grove that has been a nature reserve since 2016. Researchers found 56 polypore and 99 wood-decay fungus species here, among the highest counts studied in Finland. From the late 1960s to the late 1990s the site of today's dog park was used for winter boat storage.
At ten stations you can listen to short texts about nature and suggested exercises by tapping the station on the map. The route is step-free and almost level, with an information board, picnic spot, bird tower, bird hide, fenced dog area and toilet. It is part of the Vanhankaupunginlahti Bay hiking area.
