Mazen Al Khadour started out in 2015 with a one-man catering bakery that has grown into a family-owned chain of five Helsinki restaurants, and this was the first location. The Middle Eastern menu is built around shared meze, such as the house hummus and crunchy falafel, with dishes marked as vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free.
On weekdays there is a lunch buffet with no reservations, and at weekends a brunch with 90-minute table slots that are worth booking. Booking is also advised for evenings, but walk-ins are welcome. The main room seats 44, and a downstairs lounge for up to 24, reached by a steep staircase, hosts private events. Dogs are allowed inside.
