Dating from the 1800s, this Helsinki park lies beside Sörnäinen Prison. Until around the turn of the millennium it was the prison's vegetable garden and recreation area; it was later renovated and opened to the public. In 2016 partly contaminated soil was removed. An old stone table and stone gate pillars remain, and there is also a bee hotel.
There is a playground with swings, lawns and places to sit, and it is suitable for picnics. A community garden is tended by the Hermannin viljelijät group on volunteer work days a couple of times a week, and they can be contacted through a Facebook group. Dogs are allowed, and visitors usually spend 20 minutes to 2.5 hours here.
